What was the highlight of Pestana Viking Beach & SPA Resort
We had an Amazing Holiday!!!
Thank you so much for the nice bottle of White wine cooling in an ice bucket and a handwritten message waiting for us. That was extremely kind. Hotel location is perfect! The Bus stop is in front of the hotel and there are 2 beautiful golden, fine sandy beaches on the left and right sides of the hotel! One is a short walk, the other involves walking a 120 steps down. But it was well worth it. The Reception staff were very helpful, they happily provided info for local bus transportation. The Spa was fantastic, with a Steam Room, Sauna, Hot Tub, heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool!!! Sea view was grand and fabulous from our room.You can just see the beauty, power, and greatness of God, our Mighty Creator of Heaven and Earth. The Rooms were easily accessible by Lift. Bedrooms and everywhere was super clean. Fittings in bedroom and toilet were super modern and new! Sink in bathroom was like a spaceship, and the toilet and bathtub designs were contemporary and super comfy. Breakfast was regular and tasty. It was great that they provided brown towels in the room for use at the beach or spa, but you have to change it only at the Reception everyday. Wonderful thing was the Spa closed at 8pm which was great.
The water temperature in the hot tub wasn't really warm throughout our stay until the last day, even though we complained to the Receptionist. The Sauna temperature wasn't very hot, fluctuating between 62-72 degrees centigrade. Also, there was no heating at the Reception, Dining and walkway to the Spa, so it was really COLD in these areas the evenings, that wasn't good at all. Guests couldn't sit at the Reception in the evenings to relax because it was freezing there. Housekeeping needs improvement. When they clean, they sometimes forget to do simple tasks like topping up Shower gel, cleaning mirrors, cleaning table tops or putting in required number of tissue in the toilet etc. I had to call Reception or talk to the cleaner almost everyday, I felt like I was the housekeeper telling them what to do instead of the Guest. Also, some of the towels had holes in them, these should be sorted for wear and tear instead of giving guests worn-out towels for use in the bathroom. Let me suggest that it would've been more convenient for us if we could change beach/Spa towels at the Spa at least, not walking all the way to the Reception on another floor and the Reception was COLD in the evenings.

Bargain January break
Lovely cliff top location, spotless hotel, rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, excellent facilities.
Breakfast was ok, not amazing but fine and as we got a bargain deal in Jan, we can’t really complain about anything, we received excellent value for money overall.

A good hotel with amazing Ocean views
When I woke up today I saw an amazing sunrise under the ocean from the hotel window. The location was excellent! We also liked the kitchen corner. The stuff was friendly and helping. The pool and sauna area is very relaxing and nice.
The pillows were not very comfortable. We met a cockroach on the bathroom at night.

Very clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and dinner buffet. Beautiful sea view from the room.
The ground wasn't well maintained.
